TEMPORARY RESIDENCE, BUSINESS
Prepare your residence permit application for business
For sole traders and for board members, general partners or proxies of a company. Check the business test, work out your deadline and fees, and tick off every document.
Auranik provides administrative information, document-preparation tools and consulting support. We are not a government authority and do not make decisions on residence, work permits or visas.
How are you involved in the business?
Step 1
Quick eligibility check
Answer each question honestly. This is a preparation aid, not a decision. The voivode decides every case.
1.Are you in Poland legally right now (visa, residence permit or visa-free stay)?
The application must be filed with the voivode for your place of stay no later than the last day of your legal stay.
2.Did the business, in the last tax year, earn income of at least 12 times the average monthly gross wage in its voivodeship, OR employ at least 2 eligible workers full-time on indefinite contracts for at least a year?
The workers must be Polish citizens or foreigners with free access to the Polish labour market (for example EU, EEA and Swiss citizens), as listed in the 2025 Act on employing foreigners.
3.Do you have a stable, regular income for yourself and any dependants (offices commonly use 1010 PLN net a month living alone, or 823 PLN per family member)?
4.Do you have secured accommodation in Poland (rental agreement, ownership, or the owner's statement)?
5.If your profession needs a licence or consent from an authority, do you have it?
Answer Yes if no special consent is needed.
6.Do you have health insurance in Poland (ZUS/NFZ through work or study, or a private policy covering treatment in Poland)?

Step 2
Your timeline
Enter the date to see how many days you have and what to do first.
A temporary residence application is filed with the voivode for the place of stay no later than the last day of legal stay in Poland. If it is filed correctly during legal stay, the stay is treated as legal from filing until the decision becomes final.
Step 3
Costs
Stamp duty (paid when you apply)
340 PLN
Residence card (after a positive decision)
100 PLN
Total official fees
440 PLN
Using MOS is free. The stamp duty goes to the city office at the seat of your voivode and the card fee to the voivodeship office. Each office publishes its own account numbers.

Step 4
How filing works in MOS
- 1
Set up a trusted profile (profil zaufany)
You need it, a qualified signature or a personal signature to log in and sign. Create it at pz.gov.pl if you don't have one.
- 2
Create your MOS account
Log in to MOS (mos.cudzoziemcy.gov.pl) through login.gov.pl.
- 3
Fill in the application and attach files
Add your digital photo, scans of every passport page, fee proofs and the evidence from the checklist. MOS will not let you continue without the required attachments.
- 4
Sign, send and download the UPO
Sign with your trusted profile or qualified signature. The application counts as filed only once it is signed and sent. Download the UPO receipt as your proof of filing.
- 5
Receive the filing certificate in MOS
Once the application is formally correct, the voivode issues a certificate (zaświadczenie) in MOS confirming your stay is legal while you wait for the decision.
- 6
Attend the fingerprint visit
The office will call you in to give fingerprints and a signature sample. Bring your original passport. Answer any request for missing documents by the deadline in the letter.
