TEMPORARY RESIDENCE, STUDY
Prepare your residence permit application for studies
Check the conditions and funds benchmark, work out your deadline and fees, and tick off every document — including the attachment your university signs in MOS.
Auranik provides administrative information, document-preparation tools and consulting support. We are not a government authority and do not make decisions on residence, work permits or visas.
Step 1
Quick eligibility check
Answer each question honestly. This is a preparation aid, not a decision. The voivode decides every case.
1.Are you in Poland legally right now (visa, residence permit or visa-free stay)?
The application must be filed with the voivode for your place of stay no later than the last day of your legal stay.
2.Have you been admitted to (or are you continuing) full degree studies at a Polish university: bachelor's, master's, long-cycle master's or doctoral?
A preparatory course for these studies qualifies only for citizens of countries named in a government regulation (the office lists Belarus). Other language or preparatory courses fall under a different route.
3.Will your university complete and sign the attachment in MOS?
MOS sends the university a link by e-mail. Ask the international office which e-mail address to give.
4.If your studies are paid, have you paid the fee for the current semester or year?
Answer Yes if your studies are free of charge.
5.After paying for housing, will you have more than 1010 PLN a month to live on (or 823 PLN for each person if you have a family with you), plus money for a return ticket?
You also need to cover the cost of your studies. Bank statements, a scholarship letter or a sponsor's support can show this.
6.Do you have health insurance in Poland (ZUS/NFZ through work or study, or a private policy covering treatment in Poland)?

Step 2
Your timeline
Enter the date to see how many days you have and what to do first.
A temporary residence application is filed with the voivode for the place of stay no later than the last day of legal stay in Poland. If it is filed correctly during legal stay, the stay is treated as legal from filing until the decision becomes final.
Step 3
Costs
Stamp duty (paid when you apply)
340 PLN
Residence card (after a positive decision)
50 PLN
Total official fees
390 PLN
Using MOS is free. The stamp duty goes to the city office at the seat of your voivode and the card fee to the voivodeship office. Each office publishes its own account numbers.

Step 4
How filing works in MOS
- 1
Set up a trusted profile (profil zaufany)
You need it, a qualified signature or a personal signature to log in and sign. Create it at pz.gov.pl if you don't have one.
- 2
Create your MOS account
Log in to MOS (mos.cudzoziemcy.gov.pl) through login.gov.pl.
- 3
Fill in the application and attach files
Add your digital photo, scans of every passport page, fee proofs and the evidence from the checklist. MOS will not let you continue without the required attachments.
- 4
Send the attachment request to your university
Enter your university's correct e-mail address. MOS e-mails them a link; until they complete and sign the attachment, your application shows "waiting for the organisation" and cannot be signed or sent.
- 5
Sign, send and download the UPO
Sign with your trusted profile or qualified signature. The application counts as filed only once it is signed and sent. Download the UPO receipt as your proof of filing.
- 6
Receive the filing certificate in MOS
Once the application is formally correct, the voivode issues a certificate (zaświadczenie) in MOS confirming your stay is legal while you wait for the decision.
- 7
Attend the fingerprint visit
The office will call you in to give fingerprints and a signature sample. Bring your original passport. Answer any request for missing documents by the deadline in the letter.
