I keep seeing "MOS" mentioned for Polish residence applications. What is it and how do I actually use it?

## Short answer
MOS (Moduł Obsługi Spraw) is the Polish government's electronic portal for submitting residence applications. From 27 April 2026, it became the mandatory channel for most temporary residence, permanent residence, and EU long-term resident applications.

## What this depends on
There are five statutory paper exceptions: intra-corporate transfers; long-term mobile employees (executives, specialists, trainees); family reunification where the applicant is outside Poland; EU/UK-citizen family members in specific circumstances; and family of Polish/EU/UK citizens outside Poland. Outside those exceptions, a paper application not physically received before 27 April 2026 is not processed, regardless of postmark.

- Sign electronically (Trusted Profile or qualified electronic signature, depending on the procedure)
- Submit and retain the confirmation
