What happens if I move to another voivodeship while my case is pending?

I need to relocate to a different part of Poland but my residence application hasn't been decided yet. Does this cause problems?

## Short answer
Your case can be transferred to the voivode now competent for your new place of residence. Under KPA Art. 65, if an authority is no longer the territorially correct one, it must transfer the case, and your original submission date is preserved -- you don't lose the benefit of an on-time filing just because jurisdiction changed hands.

## Documents / steps
- A "request to transfer the case according to jurisdiction" (most voivodeship offices publish their own version of this form)
- Your case/reference number, if you have one
- Evidence of your new address in the new voivodeship
- Remember: moving voivodeship is also an address change, so the separate KPA Art. 41 notification duty applies too
