## Short answer
It depends on whether the new passport actually changed data that's printed on your residence card (like your name), or whether it's simply a renewal with the same underlying data. A same-data renewal generally does not, by itself, require anything further. An actual data change starts a 14-day deadline to apply for card exchange.

The deciding factor is whether the data shown on your card is now different from what's in your new passport -- not the fact that the passport document itself changed.

## Documents / steps
If data changed: application for card exchange, copy of the new passport's data page, current biometric photo, proof of the exchange fee, all within 14 calendar days.

## Important exception
Separately, if a broader life change means the entire reason your permit was granted no longer applies (not just a data change), a different 15-working-day notification duty may apply -- that's a distinct question from a simple passport update.
