I have a Polish residence permit. Does my time in Poland eat into my 90/180 short-stay allowance?

## Short answer
No. Time spent in Poland authorized under a valid residence permit is excluded from the Schengen 90/180 short-stay calculation, under the same EU rule that excludes D-visa time (Schengen Borders Code Art. 6).

## Important exception
As with the D-visa case, this exclusion applies to your authorized stay in Poland specifically -- short trips to other Schengen countries while your Polish residence permit is valid can still count toward the 90/180 limit for those trips.
