When do I need to replace my residence card?

Something on my residence card changed. Do I have to get a new one, and how quickly?

## Short answer
You must apply to exchange your residence card within 14 calendar days of one of these arising: a change to the data shown on the card, a change in your appearance that makes identification difficult, loss, or damage.

## What this depends on
This is a national statutory deadline (Act on Foreigners Art. 230, grounds in Art. 241) -- it applies regardless of which voivodeship issued your card, not just in one region.

- Application for card exchange
- Current card (if not lost) or a police report (if lost/stolen)
- Current biometric photo
- Proof of payment: 100 PLN standard fee, or 200 PLN if the loss or damage is your own fault
